Beirut residents demonstrate against the political system on Saturday, four days after the deadly double explosion in the capital. Camille Mourani, an opponent of power who had asked Emmanuel Macron for "international supervision", calls on Europe 1 the police to "choose their side" between the government and the people.

He arrested Emmanuel Macron during the French President's visit to Beirut on Thursday, two days after the two explosions that ravaged the Lebanese capital. Camille Mourani will be one of the demonstrators who will march on Saturday afternoon against the Lebanese political system, which they consider corrupt and incapable of recovering the country. On Europe 1, the young man deplores a "disfigured capital" and launches a warning to the army and the police, summoned to choose their camp at a time when part of the Lebanese people are rebelling.

"There is a very strong explosion which struck Beirut. We have 160 dead and dozens of missing", deplores Camille Mourani. "The whole capital is disfigured and if we are not dead, we are dead from within." The opponent in power currently in place points to the "clear responsibility of this ruling clique" in the two deadly explosions on Tuesday.

"Kleptocracy" of "terrorists"

"The truth is important but, for the moment, I do not care", launches the demonstrator, who speaks of a revenge soon snatched by the people, even if it with violence: "You will see cohorts everywhere, scaffolds are everywhere, "promises Camille Mourani, who had denounced to Emmanuel Macron the grip of" terrorists "in power.

Saturday afternoon, part of the Lebanese will therefore proclaim their desire to see the political system overthrown. Clashes with the police cannot be ruled out and Camille Mourani sends them a clear warning: "We make the army commanders assume responsibility for any drop of blood that may flow. The army and the police are called upon to choose their camp. Either they are with the people, or they are there to defend the interests of this 'kleptocracy' and this oligarchy which governs us. "
