In early March, an elderly man and woman were found dead in their home in Västergötland. The woman, who is now on trial at Skaraborg District Court, had a close relationship with the victims.

According to the indictment, the victims must have died as a result of several extensive stab wounds.

Denies crime

After the act, the accused woman got in touch with a person in the public, who later contacted the police, and told them that something serious had happened. The woman was arrested shortly after the murder.

- There have been several interrogations with her. She has explained what happened at the scene but she denies any wrongdoing. So she has provided some description of the course of events, says prosecutor Jenny Karlsson.

Mentally ill

A forensic psychiatric examination before the indictment showed that the woman was mentally ill when the act was committed and also during the examination. She may thus be sentenced to forensic psychiatric care instead of imprisonment, which the prosecutor has decided.

- Yes, but I do not quite know what to claim. I think I have good evidence, says Jenny Karlsson.

Trials are likely to take place later in August.
