“On my instructions, a grouping of forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been formed, additional forces have been given to the Ministry of Health of Russia ... Let's think about what else can be done to help people in Lebanon,” Putin said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said that Russian rescuers are working around the clock on the rubble formed after the powerful explosion in Beirut.

It was also reported that the Russian Emergencies Ministry hospital in Beirut received 13 patients on the first day of work.

A powerful explosion occurred on August 4 in the area of the seaport of Beirut near the naval base. According to local authorities, the cause of the tragedy was the detonation of 2,700 tons of ammonium nitrate confiscated by customs services, which were stored in the warehouse.
