On the same day, Lebanese Minister of Health Hassan stated that the Beirut port explosion has caused 154 deaths and 120 serious injuries. The death toll may rise further.

  According to reports, Aoun told local media that "the cause of (the explosion) has not been determined. There is the possibility of external intervention through missiles, bombs or other actions."

On August 5, local time, after the Beirut port exploded, only one wall was left in a wheat warehouse originally built at the port.

  Aoun said that the cause of the explosion is currently being investigated from three aspects. First, investigate how the explosives entered the port and stored them; second, investigate whether the explosion was caused by human negligence or an accident; third, investigate whether there is the possibility of external forces intervening in the explosion.

  According to a Russian satellite network report, Aoun pointed out that during the French President Macron’s visit to Beirut, he requested satellite images of the time of the Beirut port explosion, but if Paris cannot provide these images, Lebanon will ask other countries for help.
