- It is the main supply that is disconnected at Murberget, and the electricity continues from there to Härnösand, says Jan-Erik Olsson at Eon's press service.

It is currently unclear how many people were affected by the power outage. According to information, the district heating network will be down, shops in central Härnösand have been forced to close and the traffic lights have stopped working.

- We have people on their way to Murberget to look at what went wrong, says Jan-Erik Olsson.

No water

Hemab, Härnösand energy and environment, writes on its website that residents in parts of Härnösand will be without water due to the power outage. There is currently no estimated time for the power outage to be rectified.

Several mobile operators will also experience disruptions in the mobile network.

This is the second major power outage in a short time in the Härnösand area. Last Monday, the entire Härnösand and also large parts of Ångermanland were without electricity due to a thunderstorm. A total of 13,850 customers were affected in Härnösand.

Problems in overhead networks

At 4.30 pm, Hemab announced that it had ensured that their network was correct but that the problem remained in the overlying network. Eon, which is responsible for the overlying network, is expected to be in place by approximately 17.10.

Update 18:10: Hemab states that large parts of Härnösand should have received the power back, including the area around Murberget, Kullen and central town. The remaining areas are expected to be without electricity for another two hours. The error should not be completely localized.
