An airliner carrying at least 185 people shattered in two Friday during a crash landing in southern India, raising fears of casualties, Indian authorities and media said.

The crash of the Air India Express company, coming from Dubai, took place at Kozhikide airport, in the state of Kerala. A state deputy said at least one person, the pilot, had died, while media reported dozens of people hospitalized.
