The fishing port on Saltö will be a cinema at the end of August, where visitors will see the films from their boats.

The idea came when the organizers of the Carl International Film Festival needed to come up with a corona-safe solution in order to be able to carry out the annual film festival in Karlskrona at all.

- We thought for a very long time and worked hard to carry out the festival we had planned from the beginning, but we realized when the summer approached that it will not be feasible, says festival director Henrik JP Åkesson Ruben.

The water theme of the films

Instead of giving up the plans completely, they switched to carrying out the festival in a new version. Karlskrona's film festival this year will be completely unique of its kind - according to the organizers, the host's first film festival on water.

- There have been occasional film screenings with this set-up, but not an entire film festival on water.

The water theme will continue in the films this year as well.

- We start with, among other things, Göta Kanal and Att angöra en brygga. Real Swedish classics.

The film festival takes place in Karlskrona on 21-26 August.
