  This Boeing 737 passenger plane belongs to Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India, and flew the route from Dubai, UAE to Calicut, India on the same day, and was responsible for transporting Indian nationals. There were 184 passengers and 7 crew members on board, including 10 children. At around 7:40 p.m. local time on the 7th, the passenger plane dashed off the runway when landing at Calicut Airport and plunged into a 9-meter deep trench, but there was no fire.

  The live broadcast of the local TV station showed that the plane broke into two pieces after rushing out of the runway. Aircraft wreckage was scattered everywhere on the runway. On-site rescue work was in progress.
