According to the prosecution, this woman, who had been placed in police custody Tuesday morning, admitted having given birth to this infant and then put the body in a bag before throwing it into the canal. According to La Voix du Nord , the single mother of three said she was unaware of her pregnancy. She gave birth alone in her toilet, on the night of July 17 to 18, after suffering from severe stomach aches.
