China News Service, August 6th. Recently, there are reports that Taiwan's education department has recently announced that some overseas students will be allowed to return to Taiwan to study, but land students are excluded. The Mainland Affairs Council claimed that the mainland was obstructing the return of terrestrial students to Taiwan. In this regard, Ma Xiaoguang, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said that the relevant statements of the DPP authorities are completely fabricated and have ulterior motives. Their practices of planting slander and malicious discrimination will only backfire on themselves and advise the DPP authorities to face up to the public opinion and earnestly respect and protect Lu Sheng's legitimate rights and interests in returning to Taiwan.

A reporter asked: According to reports, Taiwan’s education department recently announced that some overseas students will be allowed to return to Taiwan to study, but land students will be excluded. The Mainland Affairs Council claimed that the mainland was obstructing the return of terrestrial students to Taiwan. Any comment on this?

Ma Xiaoguang said that the relevant statements of the DPP authorities are completely fabricated and have ulterior motives. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, we have attached great importance to the problem of mainland students being blocked from returning to Taiwan, supporting land students in safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests, and promptly assisting in solving practical problems related to land students going to Taiwan. Out of political self-interest, the DPP authorities have been deliberately taking discriminatory measures against Lu Sheng studying in Taiwan, using various excuses for political manipulation, and repeatedly creating obstacles to prevent Lu Sheng from returning to Taiwan. On August 5, the DPP authorities announced that foreign students other than fresh graduates would be allowed to return to Taiwan to study, but they only shut out Lu Sheng, again seriously damaging Lu Sheng's legitimate rights and interests.

Ma Xiaoguang pointed out that the DPP authorities have hurt compatriots’ feelings and created cross-strait antagonism, which has been questioned and criticized by public opinion on the island. Their practices of planting slander and malicious discrimination will only backfire on themselves and advise the DPP authorities to face up to the public opinion and earnestly respect and protect Lu Sheng's legitimate rights and interests in returning to Taiwan.
