SVT Nyheter was present when Capio in Helsingborg made a pilot test of the antibody test at the beginning of the week. A clear signal from Region Skåne to start mass testing is expected shortly.

- We have received a verification that the test must be 100 percent reliable, says Anna Persdotter Nyman, regional manager at Capio local health care.

Region Skåne has hired six private care providers to carry out the testing. Everyone who is registered in Skåne, is over 18 years old and has been symptom-free for 14 days is offered the test.

Bank ID required

- You go to our websites or via 1177 and log in via your bank ID. And then you book an appointment, says Anna Persdotter Nyman.

But there may be many in risk groups who do not have a bank ID. How should they proceed?

- There is no solution for that today. But we are pretty sure that the vast majority have a bank ID. During this corona period, many children have helped their parents to obtain a bank ID, says Anna Persdotter Nyman and adds that it is Region Skåne that has decided on the routine for the test.

Reply within a week

When SVT Nyheter's reporter carries out the test, it only takes a few minutes. Blood is taken from the armpit. The sample is then sent to a laboratory in Solna. The answer will come within a couple of days, up to a week.

- Then you log in with your bank ID on 1177, and you have it in your inbox there, says assistant nurse Anneli Bäckman.

Four variants

There are four different answer options. The test can be positive, that the person had covid-19, or negative. The answer may also be that there is a small amount of antibodies that are not considered adequate protection or that the sample could not be analyzed due to deficiencies in the sampling.

Region Skåne has decided that everyone who takes the antibody test must pay SEK 200. The high-cost protection does not apply.
