In Småland, approximately 30,000 hunting licenses are requested each year. But this year something went wrong with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. A large part of the cards sent out this year lack the social security number of the holder - and are thus invalid.

This means that you are not allowed to hunt. You can also not use it to certify your gun license. Anders Westström is chairman of the Swedish Hunters' Association's Alvestakrets.

- This is not good. Many of our members have contacted us and asked how they should do, says Anders Westström.

122,000 new cards will be issued

Maria Tiricke from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency says that the fault lies with the printing company that manufactures the cards. Now all hunters in the country have to wait for new cards to be able to hunt or buy weapons.

- We have sent out 122,000 new hunting licenses to hunters throughout the country. And the hunters must have them by 20 August. But it is already possible to print the cards if you go to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's website.

To be able to print a digital hunting card, e-identification is required. If you do not have it, you have to wait until a new, valid card dims down in the mailbox.
