The Spaniard Marc Marquez (Honda) had to be operated again on his right arm on Monday because of a "domestic accident" while trying to open a bay window, said Thursday the "team manager" of his team, Alberto Puig.

"It was a domestic accident at his place when he was trying to open a glass door which created a great pain and broke the plate" intended to consolidate the fracture of his right humerus suffered during a fall during a race, a Puig indicated on the sidelines of the Czech Republic Grand Prix this weekend.

Marquez, who was injured during the first GP of the season in Spain on July 19, is forfeited this weekend after trying unsuccessfully to get back on the handlebars the following week to take part in the second race on the same circuit of Jerez.

"It was probably because of the stress caused during this period that it happened but it is clear that it happened after the Grand Prix", assured the former driver, now team leader. "Marc came to Jerez with the agreement of the doctors who did not imagine that this plaque could break. If we had known about it, Marc would never have tried" to return so close to his first operation, on July 21.

"From now on, Marc will continue the process of rehabilitation and consolidation of the bone and we will see when he is ready", he concluded. "He's very strong mentally and physically, so he's going to take things as they are and come back when possible."
