At the beginning of June this year, some construction workers backed off with a skylift on Me too-puman. The artwork, which has its place on Rådhustorget in Umeå, had to be taken down and removed. Now the puma itself is being repaired by the artist and the position it is in at a workshop. Exactly when the artwork can return to its place is still unclear.

- We at the cultural administration would be happy if it could be in place by the turn of the year, says Lars Sahlin, deputy cultural director at Umeå municipality.

"It will take time"

During the backing, the Me too-cougar's tail and also the scaffold were damaged, and it is now the latter that is most likely to affect the delay according to Lars Sahlin.

- The metal pipes were cast in a concrete foundation under the tiles in the square. My assessment is that we have to redo the whole process, so it was the bottom part that was complicated and it will take time, says Sahlin.

Changing places on the artwork will not be relevant according to Sahlin and there will be no cost for the municipality.
