As BelTA informs, Lukashenka said this during a meeting on ensuring the security of the election campaign.

During the meeting, he also stated the need to assess the situation with the elections in Belarus and "develop additional security measures for the near future", if deemed necessary.

“Another topic that came up was alternative vote counting on election day. Both the Prosecutor General's Office and the courts should assess the legality of such initiatives, ”the Belarusian leader said.

Earlier, Lukashenko, during a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, said that the issue of extradition of the Russians detained in Belarus would be resolved taking into account the international agreements signed by Minsk with Moscow and Kiev.

On July 29, the state Belarusian news agency BelTA announced the arrest of 33 Russians in Belarus. On July 30 it became known that the detainees were suspected of preparing riots.

The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin expects that the Russians detained in Belarus will be released in the near future.
