Töreboda is the municipality in the region that so far during the pandemic has had the most confirmed cases of covid-19 per 10,000 inhabitants. Then comes Tibro, Gothenburg, Borås and Partille.

SVT Väst has now looked at Infection Control's weekly reports to see where the spread of infection has increased during July, or more precisely the change that has taken place since the end of week 26 (June 28) until the end of week 31 (August 2).

Largest increase in Sotenäs

The six municipalities where the number of cases in terms of number of inhabitants has increased the most are either in Fyrbodal, or along the coast. The largest increase during the five weeks in July has taken place in Sotenäs municipality, followed by Dals-Ed, Vänersborg, Bengtsfors, Färgelanda and Lysekil.

But the regional variations are large.

- We have seen an asymmetrical spread in Västra Götaland ever since the pandemic began here, and it is not impossible that it continues, says Peter Ulleryd, deputy infection control doctor.

At the same time, it is important not to draw too large gears on the broken down statistics, says Peter Ulleryd.

In the clip above, Peter Ulleryd talks about cluster proliferation and how to act if you have symptoms of covid-19.
