06 August 2020 Confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide have risen to 18,810,392, with 707,666 deaths globally. These are the latest data collected by John Hopkins University which constantly monitors the progress of the pandemic. The most affected country is always the United States, with 4,823,890 confirmed cases and 158,250 deaths. A total of 629,808 confirmed cases of infection (+6300 compared to the previous day) have been recorded since the start of the pandemic in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Germany, Austria and Greece, according to official data collected by the WHO, updated to August 5th.

The United Stateshave recorded 1,262 new coronavirus-related deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the Johns Hopkins University count. A figure similar to that of the day before, which brings to over 158,000 the total number of deaths recorded in the country since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, which appeared in China in December. The US has also identified 53,158 new cases of infection in one day, for a total budget of over 4.82 million infections.

The Brazil approaches the deaths of 100,000 threshold for coronavirus and will double the number already in October, if the current pace continues, they warn. Domingos Alves, professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo and specialist in statistics relating to the pandemic, in an interview with the AFP addressed a very severe criticism to the authorities, who according to him "sacrificed the population". He attributes the "massacre" to Brasilia's "denial" of the pandemic, to the lack of rigorous measures to contain contamination and to a precipitous demarcation. Yesterday, Brazil recorded further 1,437 deaths and 57,152 new infections. The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country therefore rose to 2,859,073, while the total number of victims since the start of the pandemic reached 97,256. According to the government, the South American giant currently has 741,180 patients monitored, while 2,020,637 others have recovered. The lethality rate is 3.4%.

The  Spain  registers the record of new infections from the coronavirus lifting of lockdown in June: in 24 hours were at least 1,772. The figure excludes data from 2 regions that have not provided them, Castile-Mancha and the Basque Country. Furthermore, there is only one new death.

The new covid-19 infections in Germany are still rising : 1045 in the last 24 hours (740 yesterday), according to data reported by the Robert Koch Institut at midnight yesterday. The daily reproduction factor of the infection on August 5 is still 0.9 and the seven-day reproduction factor is 0.99. The German health minister announced a press conference in the morning to report on the current pandemic trend in Germany. From next Saturday the test will be introduced for those arriving from risk areas covid-19. Health Minister Jens Spahn made the announcement at a press conference. "The pandemic has not gone away" and "there is a risk that the virus will return to Germany" with those returning from holidays, the minister said to explain the measure.

The Pakistan recorded 21morti and 727 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. This was announced by the Ministry of Health. The total number of infections in the Asian country thus rises to 281,863, while the death toll is 6,035 deaths since last February. In addition, 1,772 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, for a total of 256,058. Still 809 people are in critical conditions, 63 less than yesterday.

The second city of ' Australia , Melbourne, is the first day of six weeks of total lockdown, with shops and offices closed, to stop the second wave of coronavirus infections. In the last 24 hours, there have been 1,689 cases of coronaviruses in Israel , bringing the total, from the start of the pandemic, to 78,514. The ministry of health has made it known. There are now 24,576 active cases and 345 serious cases, with 100 of them in ventilation. The victims reached 569, from the start of the disease. The tests conducted yesterday - according to the ministry - were about 25 thousand with a detected infection rate of 6.6%.

In Bulgariain the last 24 hours 303 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded (of which only 28 in Sofia, about two million inhabitants, and 45 in Plovdiv, in the South, about 670 thousand inhabitants) following 5,701 diagnostic tests carried out. The total balance of infections thus rises to 12,717. As reported by the authorities, nine deaths have been registered since yesterday, the total of which has risen to 424. The number of cases of infection among medical personnel has risen to 717 people. Currently there are 5,139 active cases, while in hospitals 842 patients are hospitalized, 44 of whom are in intensive care.
