36 blue sea turtles caught by poachers in Bali, Indonesia have been dramatically rescued.

The Bureau of Natural Resources Protection said 25 of the rescued turtles were first released to the beach, and the remaining 11 are to be released soon.

The rescued blue sea turtle is an endangered species designated by the World Conservation Federation and is a large turtle that grows over 1m and weighs over 300kg.


Blue sea turtles have been suffering from illegal capture and slaughter because both eggs and flesh are considered delicacies.

As a result, the number of populations has gradually decreased, and the Indonesian authorities have even managed to clean up poachers and have rescued more than 30 turtles.

The suspects were handed over to the police.

Officials said, "I want the turtles who spawned to lay their eggs again and live well."
