"I was sexually assaulted by a North Korean man during a North Korean human rights group activity."
"Some of the funding was used for entertainment expenses such as room salon fees."

Foreign Minister of the National Assembly on the 3rd. It was a place to discuss amendments to the Inter-Korean Exchange and Cooperation Act that prohibit the spread of leaflets in North Korea. But this shocking remark came out here. This is the story of lawyer Jeon Su-mi, who was present as a statement to the Foreign Ministry. In fact, my attorney's tone was rather quick, and in some ways it seemed a bit dry. However, the contents of the remarks were difficult to pass on by themselves, leaving a lot of waves.

The former lawyer introduced himself as a member of the North Korean human rights group from 2005 to 2010, and also carried out leaflets. Becoming a lawyer is after quitting a group activity. Why is he now acting as a lawyer, summoning his past work in such a public place? I asked a question about the background in the'Remarks of the Heart'. (A former lawyer was on a business trip to handle the case in charge, so I interviewed him over the phone.)

Q. The North Korean organization's experience of funding and sexual assault were simultaneously disclosed. It was said that it was shocking. Why did you go public?

= Right now, we are providing legal assistance to people from North Korea because there were so many problems with this issue. North Korean defectors (defected North Koreans) have been treated as second-class citizens until now, but the situation has worsened because of the flyers. Less than 1% of all North Korean defectors (of North Korean defectors), but because of them (other North Koreans), it was very difficult. "Flurry North shear watnya (towards talbukmin), (there is also dealing case.)" To suck the North 'in this way

again to dwaetdago the investigation or persecution (of North Korea) about his family remaining in North Korea proceeds with major . North Korean defectors were reportedly killed or disappeared, but there was an investigation due to the North Korean flyer. North Korean refugees were very hard. I thought,'Who is it for?'

Q. Around the year 2010, it was said that North Korean human rights groups were suspended. What was the decisive moment to leave the group?

= Because I was doing that. It was decisive to receive a call from the NED (which supported the organization) from the American Democracy Promotion Foundation. The NED said that it did not know if this would happen, but that it was supporting it. This is because the NED believes unconditionally and signs and supports 3-year, 5-year long-term contracts. There is no request for a receipt. Because it is given by trust.

Also, there were many aspects of political use in North Korea's human rights activities, and because I saw all of those things (I left), there were many consultations and complaints at the time, but it did not really help North Korean defectors. Even when there was a legal problem, there was no one to give legal advice. So I thought I should help legally.

Q. Time has passed since I quit group activities. Do you think the opaque accounting or funding allegations of North Korean organizations are still valid?

= In recent years, there have been reports of internal public interests of organizations operated by North Korean defectors. The head of the group received data on the use of expenses only for personal use or for those who were really close. I applied for appreciation to the Ministry of Unification, and I was surprised to say,'This is still true.' I still asked if this was the case, but the person who reported the public interest replied, "Isn't it natural?" I thought you'd know now, but you still seemed ignorant of the concept of accounting. (North Korean defectors) You may not know well. Because the system is very different. (Ministry of Unification) I heard that you are being thankful.

I think accounting audits should be done (for North Korean organizations). How to be managed needs constant training. We need to manage why it becomes a problem and how it becomes a problem. Most people do not know.

Q. Actually, the shock of public speaking was great because I brought out even personal events.

= It was a long time ago, but I still do not regret what I said. But there was an internal injury. I can't remember what I forgot. Nonetheless, what I said is for the North Korean refugee women I support. (Attorney Jeon Su-mi is acting as the legal representative for the victim in a sexual assault case by a protection officer, who is accused of innocence, etc. of

women .) Q. Do you frequently hear complaints from North Korean refugees?

= There are no complaints or complaints, but more and more people complained of sexual violence. There is also the influence of sex culture peculiar to North Korea, so it is often unknown. When a woman talks, she says, "The woman is in trouble." Following those who have lived in a culture that obeys and obeys men. In fact, there are many cases in which sexual crimes are perceived as being more severe. No sex knowledge. When raising a question, some people say, "South Korea is the original."

Q. Is public speaking a kind of message to courage North Korean refugees?

= I'm the only one. "You, I have also suffered." It's not just you. The thoughts of the victims are always cried, crying'I'm wrong' and'I'm wearing a skirt'. I think it's embarrassing and embarrassing to talk, so I try to hide it. Don't just cry, don't just hide. I wanted to be courageous. It wasn't your fault that you were harmed, I wanted to tell you that your friends, children and sisters are safe only when you speak up.
