China News Service, Beijing, August 5 (Reporter Wu Kan) The World Chinese Media New Media Influence List for the second quarter of 2020 was released in Beijing on the 5th.

Taiwan's NOWnews Today News, Taiwan’s "United Daily News", and Taiwan’s ETtoday News Cloud ranked the top three in the global Chinese media new media influence list in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in the second quarter of 2020. Singapore's "Lianhe Zaobao", Malaysia's "China News", and New Zealand Tianwei.com are among the top three overseas regions of the world's Chinese media new media influence in the second quarter of 2020.

The list is produced by the "World Chinese Media New Media Influence" evaluation project jointly launched by China News Service and the School of Journalism of Communication University of China. According to the business data of World Chinese Media’s new media in the second quarter of 2020, the quarterly list is released. Its ranking only reflects the business situation and communication effect of each media’s new media platform in the quarter. The scale, strength and performance of its traditional business are not included. Evaluation does not necessarily reflect the overall strength and status of the media.

The list is composed of "World Chinese Media New Media Influence List", "World Chinese Media Social Media Influence List", and "World Chinese Media Website Influence List". Taking into account the native language environment of the region where the media is located, the three lists are published in accordance with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions and overseas regions.

Analysis shows that in the second quarter of 2020, affected by the global epidemic and other regional hot news, the content production volume of World Chinese Media on social media platforms has continued to remain at a high level, but the overall growth momentum has weakened.

From the perspective of social media platform production data, the average content production volume of each media on the four platforms of Facebook, Twitter, Weibo, and WeChat increased by 8.7%, 21.1%, 6.6%, and 8.1% respectively from the previous quarter. From the interactive data of social media platforms, the interaction of Facebook and WeChat has declined.

In addition, the content production of Huawen Media's website in the second quarter of 2020 increased slightly compared with the first quarter, but there is still a big gap compared with the peak level of website content production in the fourth quarter of 2019.

In order to facilitate the evaluation project sample media to grasp their own new media platform communication data and communication trends, sample users can query the specific ranking of this media list through the World Chinese Media New Media Database System (http://hmdb.chinanews.com/) Status, including the rankings and scores of the new media rankings, social media rankings, and website rankings; sample users can also inquire specific data about the media’s monthly communication power, including monthly website search engine indexing increments, number of pages visited by users, daily average Browsing time, bounce rate, total number of posts, likes, reposts, etc. of official accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Weibo, WeChat, etc.
