Xinhua News Agency, United Nations, August 4 (Reporter Wang Jiangang) On the 4th, the spokesperson of the Chinese Permanent Mission to the United Nations expressed dissatisfaction and concern over the leak of the report of the Security Council "1718 Committee" (Sanctions Committee on North Korea) expert group.

The spokesperson said that China has noticed that the 2020 mid-term report drafted by the Security Council’s "1718 Committee" expert group has been leaked to the media, triggering false speculation by a small number of media, and China has expressed dissatisfaction and concern over this. Prior to this, the expert group has repeatedly reported leaks, and many countries, including China, have expressed concern about this. China asks the United Nations Secretariat to take it seriously and avoid similar incidents from happening again.

The spokesman said that China has consistently implemented comprehensively and strictly the Security Council resolutions related to the DPRK, and earnestly fulfilled its own international obligations. For this reason, China has suffered huge losses and made huge sacrifices. China will continue to work towards realizing the dialogue and relaxation on the peninsula, advancing the process of political settlement of the peninsula issue, and playing a positive and constructive role in realizing the denuclearization of the peninsula and the long-term stability of the region.
