“Because practically all of Ukraine is Russian-speaking, the overwhelming majority of citizens speak Russian, think in Russian and consider this language their native language. This is exactly the case when it is very difficult to draw the line between what, relatively speaking, in your passport, or who you think you are, and who you really are. Because the language makes you a person of two cultures: Russian and Ukrainian, and equally, ”the senator explained.

According to him, Farion insulted the Ukrainian nation and Ukraine itself as a country. 

Earlier, the former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Irina Farion, on the air of the Ukrainian Fourth Channel, called on Russian-speaking citizens to "pack money", as they "remained outside the country's paradigm."

According to Farion, the term “Russian-speaking population” is a common cliche, and those who consider themselves to be “whiners and marginalized”.
