On the night before Sunday, a 12-year-old girl was shot dead at a petrol station in Norsborg in Botkyrka. The police suspect that the girl was shot by mistake by gang criminals who are believed to have sought other cases.

- This 12-year-old girl is the third child to have been killed due to so-called gangster wars, said Ardavan Khoshnood, doctor and criminologist to SVT News.

Several outsiders have fallen victim to gang crime in recent years. Here are some of the other notable cases:

Karolin Hakim, 31 years old

Karolin Hakim was shot to death in the district of Ribersborg, Malmö, in August 2019. She was carrying her newborn child in her arms at the time. One theory is that the target of the act was Karolin Hakim's boyfriend, a convicted robber - involved in one of the largest robberies in Denmark's history.

Ndella Jack, 18 years

In August 2019, the newlywed Ndella Jack was shot to death in her home in Råcksta in western Stockholm. Nedella Jack was lying in bed at home talking to a friend when two shooters opened fire with an automatic weapon. She was hit with 19 shots. A taxi driver and a student at the Royal Academy of Music also fell victim to the shooting. Her 33-year-old husband, who, according to the prosecutor, was the actual target, survived the attack.

Shayan Gaff, 22

The medical student, Shayan Gaff, had just left a restaurant with his cousin when he was shot dead with 13 shots in Segeltorp in Huddinge 2018. Shayan Gaff was mistaken for another man and became an innocent victim when he came between an ongoing conflict between two criminal networks.

Daniel Cuevas Zuniga, 63 years old

Daniel Cueva's Zuniga was cycling home from work from a nursing home with his wife in Vårby farm in Huddinge 2018, when he mistaken a hand grenade for a toy. Daniel Cueva's Zuniga bent down to pick up the object and then the explosion took place. Zuniga died of his injuries and his wife was injured.

Luna Mandic, 4 years

Luna Mandic had been fishing in Gothenburg with her father Dejan Mandic and his two friends. On the way home, the car suddenly exploded. Luna Mandic was hospitalized but later died of her injuries. In the car was a 32-year-old man, a well-known gang leader in Gothenburg, who had been convicted of a crime before. 

Petar Petrovic, 20 years

Petar Petrovic had watched the Champions League play-off when he was shot dead in Biskopsgården on Hisingen in Gothenburg in 2015. Petrovic was on his way out of a restaurant at Vårväderstoget, when two men stormed in and started shooting in the room. Petrovic and two other men died that evening, March 18.
