Senior health officials in Abu Dhabi received the second dose of the inactive "Covid-19" vaccine as one of the first volunteers in the clinical trials that enter its third phase in the framework of the "For Humanity" campaign, which witnesses more interaction between different residents of the country.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Hamid, head of the Abu Dhabi Health Department and acting director of the department, Jamal Muhammad Al Kaabi, were among the first volunteers to receive inactive "Covid-19" vaccine doses, which officially started on July 16, where the officials did not show any side effects and demonstrated the presence of bodies Strong countermeasures and immune responses during ongoing trials, under expert supervision.

And while adhering to strict monitoring protocols that include direct medical examinations by the third and eighth days of receiving the first dose and phone follow-up on the seventh day and again on the fourteenth day, interim reports revealed to officials that their initial response has been very positive to date.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamid said: "After getting the first vaccine, my brothers and sisters did not complain of any symptoms, and today the second stage of the vaccination begins."

He added: "The good side is that the one who gets the vaccine will be free to move in the country without the need for a PCR examination."

"To close scientific research and agree that the property should go out to the market, we need the number of volunteers to reach 15,000," he said.

For his part, Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al-Kaabi said: "We tell the people participating in the study, do not be afraid that you are part of the study and that the vaccination was successful, you will be among the first people to get the vaccination once it is approved."

He added: "The center located on the exhibition grounds is the largest center in which clinical research is conducted for the third stage at the level of the Middle East."

Clinical trials contribute to supporting the capabilities of medical research and development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including the national capabilities to manufacture the vaccine. The current clinical trials are conducted according to the international guidelines stipulated by the World Health Organization and the US Food and Drug Authority.
