As BelTA informs, in a telephone conversation with Lukashenko, Zelensky raised the issue of the Russians detained in Belarus. He informed that they took part in the hostilities in the Donbas, and the Ukrainian prosecutor's office is investigating these facts.

"Alexander Lukashenko, in turn, noted that law enforcement agencies will cooperate on this issue within the framework of international agreements signed with Russia and Ukraine," the agency said in a statement.

Earlier, Zelensky's office said that the President of Ukraine discussed with Lukashenko the issue of extradition of Russian citizens detained in the republic.

On July 29, the state Belarusian news agency BelTA announced the arrest of 33 Russians in Belarus. On July 30 it became known that the detainees were suspected of preparing riots.

The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin expects that the Russians detained in Belarus will be released in the near future.
