Milan, even today the best, rises by 1.35%, while London Frankfurt and Paris stop below the percentage point. Intesa San Paolo is still on the list in Piazza Affari (+ 4.29%), after the half-year accounts presented yesterday in view of the merger with Ubi Banca (3.40%).
The plus sign on the markets today does not eliminate the caution related to the effects of Covid on the economy. And so gold breaks through the threshold of $ 2,000 an ounce for the first time, reaching a record high of 2,031. The yellow metal, chosen as a store of value by investors in times of uncertainty, also rises in relation to the very low yields of US government bonds and the weak dollar.
On the foreign exchange market, therefore, the Euro strengthened, rising to the highest levels from May 2018 to 1.1827.
