"The Chinese side is deeply shocked and saddened by the unfortunate incident of a major explosion in Lebanon that caused a large number of casualties." Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in response to a regular press conference on August 5.
It is reported that on the evening of the 4th local time, a violent explosion occurred in the port area of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and the latest news said that the accident had killed at least 100 people.
"We express our deep condolences to the victims, our sincere condolences to the injured and their families, and wish the injured a speedy recovery." Wang Wenbin said.
