China News Service, August 4th. On August 3, at the High-end Forum on Disruptive Technologies in Information and Electronic Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Engineering held in Deqing, Zhejiang, Baidu CTO Wang Haifeng delivered a keynote report on the topic of "Knowledge-enhanced Natural Language Understanding". In the report, Wang Haifeng announced the latest data of Baidu Knowledge Graph: Baidu has created the world's largest multi-source heterogeneous knowledge graph, with more than 5 billion entities and 550 billion facts, and it is constantly evolving and updating. Baidu Knowledge Graph is used in all walks of life, with more than 40 billion calls per day.

Wang Haifeng said that knowledge is the result of human cognition of the world and the crystallization of human wisdom. The mastery, application and inheritance of knowledge promotes human progress. The knowledge graph is the foundation of the machine's cognitive world. In recent years, with the rise of large-scale knowledge graphs, more and more knowledge and deep learning have been combined to form a unified semantic representation, and then deep semantic understanding. Baidu integrates multi-source heterogeneous big data to construct an ultra-large-scale knowledge graph, the number of entities and facts included far exceeds the knowledge of the human brain.

The knowledge graph is of great significance to the research in the field of AI basic technology, and it also plays an important role in industry landing and industrial intelligence. On May 20, at the Baidu Cloud Intelligence Summit, Wang Haifeng released the Baidu Intelligent Cloud Knowledge Center for the first time, based on Baidu's accumulated knowledge graph, natural language processing, multi-modal semantic understanding, intelligent search and other core AI technologies.

The knowledge platform can provide enterprises with efficient and convenient knowledge production, organization and application capabilities, meet the intelligent needs of business scenarios, and solve the pain points that most enterprises lack the ability to build and use knowledge. For example, in the medical industry, Baidu's medical knowledge map was jointly established with People's Medical Publishing House to help medical screening, diagnosis, and management. In addition, Baidu Knowledge Graph has been widely used in the fields of financial risk control, intelligent customer service, energy and power.

Through the continuous application of core technologies such as natural language understanding and knowledge graphs, artificial intelligence is serving thousands of industries and accelerating industrial intelligence.
