Chinanews, August 4th. According to foreign media reports, the renovation project of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris continues to advance. From August 3, the staff began to disassemble and repair the famous giant pipe organ in Notre Dame de Paris. Allegedly, the staff hoped that the organ could be played again on April 16, 2024.

On June 17, 2020, local time, in Paris, France, workers dismantled the burnt scaffolding of Notre Dame Cathedral and installed new scaffolding.

According to reports, this giant pipe organ has 8000 sound tubes, 5 keyboards and 106 stops. It was once located under the rose window on the west side of Notre Dame Cathedral.

Experts said that although the pipe organ survived the fire in April 2019, it suffered from high temperatures. In addition, the pollution caused by the fire consuming more than 460 tons of lead bricks on the roof also made the sound tube covered with lead dust.

On August 3, 2020, local time, the staff began to disassemble the pipe organ, and will clean and repair the sound tube separately.

According to reports, the staff hoped that the organ could be played again on April 16, 2024, five years after the Notre Dame de Paris fire.

On April 15, 2019, Notre Dame Cathedral was hit by a fire. The entire building was seriously damaged. Most of the top was burnt down, and the spire collapsed in the fire. Due to the new crown epidemic, weather and lead pollution problems, reconstruction work has been repeatedly delayed. In July 2020, French Minister of Culture Bachelor also announced that Notre Dame de Paris will start reconstruction as early as January 2021.
