In recent days, the tone of the debate on how Swedish coronary restrictions affect the cultural industry has been significantly increased. More and more critical voices are being raised against Minister of Culture and Sports Amanda Lind with demands to make it easier for major cultural events.

"The limitation is very important"

But according to state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell, the restriction of crowds larger than 50 people has proved to be very important because they involve great risks. There is therefore no reason to ease the restrictions, he says.

- There is definitely no risk that we are willing to take right now, he says at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Tegnell, the uncertainty ahead of the autumn and new outbreaks of infection remains great and it is therefore important to continue to maintain the restrictions.

"Definitely not over"

Admittedly, the development in Sweden is going in the right direction at the moment, says Tegnell. The number of deaths per day has dropped to a couple of cases a day, just like the number of new patients admitted to intensive care.

However, in other parts of the world the infection is increasing rapidly and in as many as 70 of the world's countries there is an increased spread of infection.

- It is definitely not over yet, says Anders Tegnell.
