The governor of Beirut, Marwan Abboud, said that 10 of the firefighters' elements had disappeared and no information about them until this moment, as a result of the explosion that took place at the Beirut port today, according to Sky News Arabia.
He added, "A fire was observed at the beginning, after which the explosion occurred, whose causes we do not know," noting that the explosion "is similar to what happened in Japan, in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and is considered a national catastrophe."
Marwan Abboud shed tears live during one of the meetings, and concluded his speech by saying, "I appeal to the Lebanese people for cohesion ... We are strong and we will remain strong."
