“It's a miracle that the organ survived the fire, but it's full of dust. Therefore, the instrument will first be thoroughly cleaned and then restored, ”he said on the air of Europe 1 radio station.

The restoration process is expected to be completed by April 2024.

The organ has been the "voice" of the cathedral since 1733. It consists of approximately 8 thousand pipes, divided into 115 registers.

A major fire in Notre Dame, Paris occurred on April 15, 2019, it lasted more than 12 hours.  

The French side invited Russian experts to participate in the restoration work.

At the end of May 2020, the authorities opened the square in front of the cathedral to the public.
