The detentions were carried out jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Guard. According to the intelligence service, the detainees were involved in the modernization of civilian weapons into military counterparts, the manufacture of ammunition and their sale in various regions.

As noted, during the operation, 22 underground workshops were identified, including equipped with 3D printers and numerical control machines.

In June, the FSB seized nearly 200 barrels and grenades from clandestine gunsmiths in several Russian cities, including Moscow and St. Petersburg.
