At around 10:49 am local time on the 3rd, a semiconductor equipment parts manufacturing plant in Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi-do, a landslide occurred in a mountain behind its building, and mud hit the plant.
The firefighting authorities rescued the 4 people trapped in the mud after more than an hour. However, three people died after being sent to the hospital in a coma, and one suffered multiple fractures and other serious injuries.
It is reported that the workers were attacked in a temporary construction work site built with tents and the like.
Relevant personnel of the firefighting authority said that it is not clear whether there are workers buried, so additional search operations will be carried out.
