The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) expects that the first coronavirus vaccine in Russia will be registered within ten days. This was stated by the head of the organization Kirill Dmitriev.

“Of course, all procedures will be followed by the Ministry of Health. They have already received the first results of both the first and second phases of the test, they see that the results are very good, "Dmitriev said on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel.

As the head of the RDIF noted, if his expectations are met in terms of timing, the Russian drug will become the world's first registered vaccine against COVID-19. According to Dmitriev's estimates, by the end of 2020, its production volumes may reach 10 million doses per month.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov gave a similar assessment of the situation. According to him, by the beginning of next year, the number of vaccine doses produced may reach several million. At the same time, the minister stressed that the volume of production of the corresponding drugs will primarily depend on the needs of the healthcare system.

"According to preliminary estimates, due to the launch of contract sites this year, we will be able to ensure the production volume of several hundred thousand doses of vaccine per month, with a subsequent increase to several million by the beginning of next year," Manturova quoted TASS.

Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko said that mass vaccination against coronavirus is planned to begin in Russia in October. He noted that this procedure will be free. As the minister specified, I will be the first to vaccinate certain groups of citizens.

“It will start in parallel with the vaccination of special groups - first of all, doctors and teachers, there will also be observations of vaccinated patients,” the minister said on August 1.

Along with this, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova expressed confidence that the Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection being developed will be absolutely safe and effective. She stated this in an interview with the Vesti program on the Russia 1 TV channel.

“I have no doubt that the vaccine that will get to people today will be absolutely safe and, of course, effective,” Popova said.

No side effects

In turn, on August 3, the Ministry of Defense told about the final examination of volunteers who took part in the vaccine trials. The research was carried out by the forces of the defense department and the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamaleya.

During the tests, which took place from June 3 to July 20, the volunteers were in a hospital in isolation. All this time, they were under the supervision of doctors at the Burdenko Hospital, who have experience in testing vaccines.

From the message of the Ministry of Defense it follows that the research results clearly showed that all volunteers had a "clear immune response resulting from vaccination."

“There were no side effects or abnormalities in the work of the volunteers' bodies. Thus, the available data of laboratory and instrumental studies allow us to speak about the safety and good tolerance of the vaccine, created by the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after NF Gamaleya, together with the Russian Ministry of Defense, vaccines, ”the message says.
