Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al-Marri, approved the comprehensive strategic modernization project for Dubai Police (Fifty-Ready Plan). Major General Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al-Obaidli emphasized that the strategic modernization work team will include nine working teams: the Policy and Laws Working Group, the Studies, Forecasting and Research Team, the Opinion and Requirements Survey Team, the Internal Stakeholders Survey Team, the Security Structure Team, and the Competitiveness and Global View Team , The Strategic Plans Reference Team, the Strategic Labs team, and the Strategic Retreat team.
Time frame and stages
Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mualla, Director of the General Administration for Excellence and Entrepreneurship, said that the general timeframe for the modernization project includes five stages, the first of which is “planning for planning”, and includes the approval of the project and work plans, and the formation of teams, while the second includes “studying the opinions, requirements and aspirations of those concerned” through Review and update the strategic plan, study government trends, study the outlook for the future, learn about global practices, update and understand the expectations and requirements of those concerned, and define the expectations and requirements of the high leadership. The third stage is to define the current status of the institution, and it addresses the points of analysis of the internal and external environment, and the identification of strategic gaps, and "strategic laboratories", and the initial perception of the future system.
The fourth stage includes the strategic retreat to develop the approved system for modernization, while the last stage is to align the strategy through reviewing and updating the risks, reviewing, updating and approving strategic operations, reviewing the update and approval of indicators and initiatives, and aligning with the objectives of public departments and police stations. Al-Mualla affirmed work in the project’s phases during the current year, until reaching the last stage in next December.
