According to Lifeguards Tylösand, which counts bathers along the beach, on a typical day there have been around 10,000-20,000 people on the beach this summer. But Saturday's fine weather attracted all the more.

- Yesterday was the best day, we have not seen so many visitors in the remaining days, says lifeguard Daniel Holltryd.

And the lifeguards do their best to remind bathers to keep their distance.

- We see that bathers, especially those who drink a couple of beers, lose covid-19 and social distancing quite quickly, he says.

Party in the dunes

One reason why so many people gather on the beach despite the recommendations for social distancing, may be because there is too little else to do right now, says lifeguard Daniel Holltryd.

- Due to the restrictions, everything is limited but it does not apply to the beach and then people gather and there is a party in the dunes instead, he says.

Children run around by themselves

In recent days, there have been several incidents with lost children on Tylösand. Only on Saturday, two children disappeared into the sea - but who were later found unharmed. Now the lifeguards believe that parents should pay more attention.

- Mobile phones and tablets are a huge problem. We think that you might be able to leave them at home during the time you are on the beach, so that you can have a lot of supervision, says Daniel Holltryd, Lifeguards Tylösand.
