Live streaming has been an upward trend for several years but during the corona pandemic it really took off.

The streaming service Twitch, which, among other things, broadcasts live music, art, travel streams and nature streams, had five billion viewing hours in the second quarter of this year. This is an increase of 56 percent from the first quarter. And if you compare it with the second quarter of 2019, it is an increase of two billion views.

Nature streaming is increasing in popularity

The category "Travel and outdoors" has been one of the most popular categories in the past. But due to fewer people traveling during the pandemic, it has been replaced by nature streaming - which is a favorite of many.

Among other things, Nordens Ark in Bohuslän has followed the trend and started a streaming service on Twitch.

Facebook gaming's bet

The streaming service Facebook gaming has also increased significantly by as much as 75 percent more in the second quarter than the first this year. The high increase in Facebook gaming is believed to be due to international marketing, investment in gaming apps and celebrity tournaments.
