Only 13-year-old Finnish karting talent Tuukka Taponen won a great victory in the European karting competition on Sunday in Zuera, Spain.
The perfect match came in the OKJ class. Taponen also won the first European Championship of the same class last year.
Taponen will compete in this season's European Championship series with the driver of the Italian Tony Kart Racing team. In Finland, a young man from Lohja rides a running game of the Kohtala Sports team run by Jussi Kohtala.
- There were 64 drivers, of which the best 36 made it to the finals. There were four time trial groups here, and Tuukka won his own group. In the final, Tuukka's start was good, and little by little he rose from the ninth square to the top. A really great achievement, Kohtala reports Taponen's performance to Ilta-Sanomat.
Taponen drove his first laps in a go-kart at the age of two. Last year, he won the Finnish championship in the OKJ class and reached fourth in the European Championship series.
