China Overseas Chinese Network, August 2 According to a report compiled by the New Zealand Chinese Pioneer Network, a fire broke out in a Chinese restaurant in central Auckland, New Zealand at around 11:30 pm local time on August 1, which was severely damaged.

  A spokesperson for the fire and emergency services department said the fire had spread when the fire truck arrived at the scene.

  The spokesperson who was on the scene told the media, “There was a fire in this Chinese restaurant... The fire spread from the roof of the restaurant to the pizzeria (next door). We don’t think this fire is suspicious, but we will work with fire investigators. Cooperative investigation."

  A local resident who asked not to be named said that the restaurant closed at around 10pm and the owner left shortly before the fire broke out.

  He said, "I feel sorry for the shopkeeper. As a local, I feel sad to see this happen to them. First it was blocked by the epidemic, and now there is a fire."

  When the fire broke out, there was a family celebrating in the pizzeria and they were asked to evacuate.

  Many people stood outside watching the firefighters work.

  A photographer at the scene said that firefighters put out the fire from the front and back of the restaurant to control the fire. The St John ambulance is also on standby, but it is not required.

  The dumplings and kebabs at this Chinese restaurant are very popular among local residents. Its signature dishes are spicy fried chicken bones, beef tripe and duck blood in chili oil.
