The head of state added that he could officially ban the work of a Chinese company in the United States as early as Saturday, August 1, using emergency economic powers.

On July 7, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the United States is considering banning the Chinese TikTok app in the country.

He noted that he would recommend using this application only if people want their personal data to be "in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party."
