01 August 2020 'Red' stamp, and therefore maximum alert level, for the heat in 14 Italian cities: Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Campobasso, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Perugia, Pescara, Rieti, Rome, Turin, Verona and Viterbo. The current one, as shown by the Ministry of Health's heat wave bulletin, is one of the hottest weekends of the year, with temperatures around 40 degrees in different cities.

The grip of the heat, in particular, does not loosen on Sardinia, where the Civil Protection has, in the past few hours, issued a new alert for high temperatures: in these first two days of August, they will still exceed 40 degrees, with peaks of 44-45, especially in the central-southern part of the island.

In Sicily, however, the regional civil protection speaks of maximum fire risk in large areas, including the province of Palermo, and a heat wave with temperatures up to 36 degrees: heat wave expected to increase, passing from level 2 at level 3 for Sunday, when the ground temperatures will be up to 37 degrees.

For tomorrow, however, the ministry bulletin on heat waves indicates 'red dot' in 12 cities: Ancona and Palermo are added to today, but the alert drops to Bolzano, Brescia, Turin and Verona.

Expected 39 degrees in Bologna and Latina, 38 in Florence, 37 in Rome.
