The 70-year-old railway veteran Tan Genyun told reporters that since the Dongting water level in early July, the rescue team has been guarding the levee and conducting dragnet-style investigations twice a day. If it's not for physical conditions, he would like to jump into the water and "fight" with the "main force" of the rescue team to protect the homeland.

After seeing that there was not enough manpower for flood control, he voluntarily asked to go to the embankment on July 9th, and fell to the ground in three shifts to guard a building through the embankment.
