Two people have been killed and dozens injured in a collision of a vehicle used to service a bullet train and a train track in Portugal. According to the news agency AFP, the accident happened at half past four in the afternoon near the town of Sure.

The Alfa Pendular high-speed train en route from the capital Lisbon to Braga north carried around 280 passengers at the time of the accident. In addition to the deaths, eight people were seriously injured, according to local authorities. In addition, at least 30 people suffered minor injuries.

Pictures transmitted from the scene of the accident show that at least some of the train's wagons derailed in the collision. About 170 people took part in the rescue work.
