Storm Isaias has intensified into a hurricane off the east coast of the United States. Isaias rose from a tropical storm to a category one hurricane as it moved toward the Bahamas and the U.S. state of Florida.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center NHC warned of the hurricane early today.
The hurricane’s average wind speed has been at a maximum of 36 meters per second, the NHC reported.
On Thursday, the state of Florida closed its corona testing centers due to a looming storm, among other things.
Isaias is expected to strike Florida later this week.
