"For the first time there will be a mixed patrol between the police forces of Italy and France at the Italian border" which will be deployed in late August and early September. French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin announced this when he met journalists in Rome.

"Human traffickers take advantage of the different provisions of the police forces of Italy and France and therefore this mixed police force is a big step forward," explained the minister. It is not clear yet where it will be deployed but there is talk of Menton. "In addition to this there will be an Italian border police force that will install itself in Bardonecchia," added Darmanin.
