The person who does not receive imprisonment is released completely. There, the evidence is not considered sufficient. In the other fourteen cases, imprisonment is imposed for between five years and nine months and nine and a half years. Those who are not Swedish citizens are deported after the sentence has been served.

- When we made the most strikes in the autumn of 2018, we heard from the police in Stockholm that the prices of heroin doubled on the street. We have never been so clear that our work has affected what is happening on the street, Gill Eriksson, deputy head of the Customs Criminal Unit in Gothenburg, told SVT Nyheter Väst in connection with the trial.

Unconfirmed connection

It was in October last year that the trial started against the 15 people who had been charged with, among other things, extremely serious drug offenses and extremely serious drug smuggling.

The defendants are said to have links to a Nigerian mafia network, Black Ax, according to the prosecutor. Black Ax is an established Nigerian so-called "brotherhood", a smuggler with great similarities to the Italian mafia, known for very violent methods.

But councilor Anna Hannell says in a press release that no such connection has been found:

- The investigation shows that an organized activity has been behind the smuggling to Sweden, but we have not found support for any connections to the Nigerian network Black Ax.

According to the indictment, the defendants have handled 132 kilos of cocaine and heroin. The drugs must then have been packaged in the Netherlands and then sent to Gothenburg and Stockholm for further sale. The total street value should be approximately SEK 112 million.

Not serious mental disorder

Two of the accused have undergone a forensic psychiatric examination which was completed in mid-July. According to a statement from the National Board of Forensic Medicine, neither of these two suffers from any serious mental disorder.

The evidence includes secretly intercepted telephone conversations, notebooks, notes on envelopes, photos on scales and the records of drug sales, as well as lots of chat conversations that took place over mobile phones.
