At least nine people died in an accident involving a minibus in Crimea

On the morning of Friday, July 31, an accident occurred on the Tavrida highway with the participation of a truck and a minibus en route from Krasnodar to Simferopol. As a result of the accident, nine passengers of the minibus were killed, and three injured were also reported. The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that, according to preliminary data, the accident could have occurred due to the fact that the driver of the minibus fell asleep at the wheel. Criminal cases were initiated under part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules or the operation of vehicles, resulting in the death of two or more persons) and under Art. 238 (provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers).
