The Giro, which unveiled its entire new route on Thursday, added an additional summit finish, in Roccaraso (center-east), in the 2020 edition which will take place for the first time in October, from 3 to 25 .
Last week, the organizers of the Tour of Italy (RCS) announced the details of the Grand Départ, transferred from Hungary to Sicily for the first four stages.
Initially, the Giro presented its first three stages in Hungary, in May, before the coronavirus pandemic forced cycling to a long parenthesis.
In its final route, the Tour of Italy has changed its first week. In addition to one more day in Sicily, the sprinters will have an additional opportunity, in Matera (6th stage), and the climbers will have the climb of Roccaraso (9th stage), in Abruzzo, in their favor at the end of a course. with more than 4,000 vertical meters.
"The last two weeks of the Giro remain unchanged from its original schedule, with the exception of the start of the 10th stage which will be given to Lanciano," added RCS.
