The European Union has imposed sanctions against structures and citizens of Russia

“These individuals and organizations or bodies are responsible for, support, or have been involved in cyberattacks or attempted cyberattacks, including the attempted cyberattack against the OPCW and the cyberattacks publicly known as WannaCry and NotPetya, and Operation Cloud Hopper,” the statement said.

The appendix to the EU Council resolution indicates the persons who have come under the sanctions - Alexey Minin, Alexey Morenets, Yevgeny Serebryakov, Oleg Sotnikov.

The main center for special technologies of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces also fell under the sanctions.

Earlier, the House of Representatives of the US Congress approved the draft defense budget for the 2021 fiscal year, which contains amendments to strengthen sanctions against the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
